Description

Quick overview of the role 

The Operator/Storeperson supports both operational and warehouse functions to ensure efficient production, safe material handling, and effective inventory management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

What will you be doing?

  • Conducting pre-start checks on plant, machinery, and equipment prior to use.
  • Operating machinery, plant, and equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Producing manufactured goods in line with required specifications.
  • Picking and packing sales orders and internal stock transfer requests.
  • Safely loading and unloading vehicles in accordance with Safe Loading Guidelines and Chain of Responsibility legislation.
  • Checking and receipting incoming goods in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Processing stock returns and completing required documentation.
  • Undertaking regular stock takes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across operational and warehouse areas.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to support a safe, productive, and efficient worksite.


Skills And Experiences

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?

  • Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • High Risk Work Licence – Dogman (highly regarded).
  • Experience operating overhead gantry cranes (advantageous).
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and handle materials.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and follow procedures.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience in the steel industry (advantageous).
  • Previous warehousing or distribution experience (advantageous).
